School for Hackers

The article, School For Hackers describes how important it is for kids to be able to build things and not just sit in a desk for 6 hours. At my school, you can take art classes that work with pottery and clay, but it is not mandatory. I think if we did more building activities, more kids would want to be involved. For younger kids, they can get distracted easy, so sitting in a desk is a hassle. Kids would be more well-rounded if they got the opportunity to think outside the box and create things no one else has thought of. Even though we want students to be scholars, there is more to life than just reading a book. I think schools should take time out of the school day to let the kids express their ideas and expand their creative thinking.
